Which teachers are covered at each school site?
Those teachers registered on the renewal notice when returned
with correct payment.
Do all Industrial Design & Technology (Manual Arts)
teachers at a school site have to be registered?
Definitely not - however unregistered teachers will have
to pay full fees when attending INTAD organised inservice
seminars and will not directly benefit from products or
services provided by membership subscriptions.
What are the voting rights associated with this membership?
One vote per registered school teacher.
What is the proposed fee structure for school site membership?
A base fee to substantially cover the magazine/mailing
costs and as set out on the current INTAD Membership form. This fee structure may be varied if required
by a motion passed at any general meeting of INTAD.
How would the annual subscription be collected?
One way might be to include the base fee in the ITD/Manual Arts budget with each registered teacher personally
paying their individual registration fee. Alternatively
the school may decide to fully fund each teacher's individual
registration fee from professional development funds
and remit a single payment to INTAD.
What about receipts for tax purposes?
INTAD can only receipt the payments that we receive directly.
If site member teachers wish to receive individual receipts
then each will have to provide an individual payment (cheque)
for the required amount.
How would site membership work?
One teacher would be nominated as the INTAD representative
at each school site. Only one copy of the journal (and
another INTAD Journal will be provided for a site that has 3
or more site members)
and correspondence
would be sent to each school site. Each registered school
teacher would be able to obtain all INTAD products and services
and attend INTAD inservice at discounted membership rates.
Can I remain an individual member of INTAD?
Yes - continue to pay the individual membership subscription
(see current membership form) and you will receive your own copy of the
Journal and all correspondence (don't register as part of
a site membership).
What happens if, as a site member, I am transferred
to a centre that does not have site membership?
Contact INTAD and we will change your membership status
to an individual membership until the next renewal period.
Site membership attempts to give members the opportunity
to be involved in their subject area's future.
