Once you have the design brief, you must decide how to tackle the problem. There are different ways of doing this.  For example:

1. Write down all the information that you think may help you. Write it down as you think of it, there is no need for a special order.
2. Ask friends for their suggestions.
3. Your IDEAS will be restricted in some ways – think about the following:

TIME - How long have you got to solve the problem?

MATERIALS- What is available? How much will it cost?

FUNCTION- What exactly is the item for?

APPEARANCE- What will it look like?

ERGONOMICS- How big / small? what shape? easy to use? efficient?

CONSTRUCTION- Can YOU make it?
